"Changing the World...
    One Child at a Time"

Principal's Message

Winter 16-17,

Dear Bloomingdale Families,

The winter months gives rise to many different activities for you to participate in at school with your child or to volunteer to help the different organizations sponsoring activities for your child.  Some of the activities include: family wreath making, the holiday concert and movie night.  Please see our calendar and newsletter for the many events.  In January we will hold our family nutritious meal making event.  Watch for details.  The event fills up quickly.

We are always looking for volunteers for the shared paired reading program.  If you can volunteer twice a week for 30 minutes please contact me.  We have students waiting for an adult reading buddy.

There are also many activities in the community for students to continue their learning outside of school.  There are book give away events at the carousel and many activities for children during our winter carnival events.  We live in an unique area where children can learn many skills from outdoor experiences all year long. There are many poster and writing contests children can use to improve their skills in a fun way with family support.  You have received a flyer about a contest sponsored by the Northern Fireman's Volunteer Association which is due in January 7th.  It would be wonderful to see many of our students participate especially since the BVFD is so supportive in sponsoring a wide array of activities for our children to learn about fire safety and prevention.

As partners with you in the growth and learning of your children, we welcome your participation in school events.  Also, please feel free to contact me at 897-1751 if you have suggestions or can volunteer at Bloomingdale.

The Bloomingdale Family wishes all of you Happy Holidays and an awesome 2017!
